Without Ganesha’s most favourite dish, Modaka, Ganesha festival cannot be completed.
Grate one coconut mix with 4-5 spoons of sugar and little khova(1/2 cup) with these. Grease your kadai with ghee now prepare this mixture on heat. When oil comes out from the kadai your mixture is ready. I do add cashew and raisins in this mixture and before making this mixture fry the dry fruits you want to add. Yes the raisins too. Now keep this mixture to cool.
Take one cup rice powder and boil 1.5 cup of water + 1 spoon ghee + pinch of salt. When the water boils, put this in the rice powder mix the water and rice powder with a spoon and cover for 2 hours.
After two hours make the rice powder dough. If it is dry put little ghee(not more than one spoon) .Now make small balls(smaller than puri) and flatten the balls put that coconut mixture . Give a shape of your choice. Modak is normally temple shape.
Now the last and most tough step
Steam all those Modak for 10-12 minutes.
Before steaming all those odak, grease the pan.
